Earl Zackery Construction
Hello. My name is Earl Zackery. I own and operate Earl Zackery Construction and have a team of reputable sub-contractors to successfully complete your remodeling projects both large and small. I specialize in interior remodeling and exterior carpentry. As a small company, I offer personalized service and tight control over the project from the beginning to its completion. Also, due to limited overhead expenses, I am able to keep the project's administrative costs to a minimum. My goal is synchronizing first class with affordability.
I work closely with customers, architects and interior designers to ensure project success. I have excellent communication and problem solving skills and cost effectively manage challenging remodeling situations.
TooGoodandTrue is a reflection of Earl Zackery Construction and how it continues to build on its success, one customer at a time. To put it simply, Earl Zackery Construction delivers Rolls Royce craftsmanship and first class service for less.
Since founding Earl Zackery Construction, I have done so entirely on a customer referral basis and have built a solid reputation of delivering exceptional quality and service at competitive prices.
I am always pursuing the next interesting and challenging project and would like to discuss how I can fulfill your remodeling needs.
About the General
Born in 1970, I have resided in Seattle my entire life except for my college years at Oregon State University. I returned to Seattle in 1993 with a Business degree. For the next six years, I was employed in various fields including a coordinator of a non-profit tutoring program and a case manager at an at-risk youth program. Although the office environment had its rewards, I decided to pursue a career in home remodeling. I have always enjoyed building and repairing things and made it my profession officially in 1998. Through working with many different contractors, extensive self-study, field training and operating Earl Zackery Construction, I have acquired broad experience and skill in residential remodeling and construction.
During the years of working with different people from different backgrounds and occupations, I realize that forming great relationships requires a sincere effort in determining that what I have to offer will fulfill one's needs. The first step is for me to meet you and begin the discovery process.
My Customers
My customers desire a high quality product from a first class operation. Unfortunately, nearly every customer I have worked for has had a disappointing experience with a construction contractor. I rely heavily on my workmanship, customer service and communication skills to prevent disappointing experiences.
Remodel Pricing
I prefer to contract on a cost plus basis. I define cost plus as a fixed cost for labor plus the cost of materials. I can also work on a time plus materials basis but have found this method to be problematic and stressful for most people. Time plus materials contracting is often selected when project details are unclear and/or many changes are expected throughout the project.
It is essential to a project's success that it is clearly defined. My experience, remodeling and communication skills allow me to eliminate variables that interfere with completing projects on time and within budget.
Services
General Contracting: I manage the project and provide carpentry. I choose and manage all sub-contractors.
Carpentry: I work as a carpenter under the direction of others.
Home Repair: From minor to more involved repairs, I have the skills, tools and knowledge to handle them.
Professional Responsibility
No project is without accident, error or a mistake. In my career as a contractor, I am proud to state when a problem arose, it was quickly resolved 100% of the time. As a general contractor, I am responsible for ensuring the outcome as discussed and agreed upon with my customer.
Testimonials
The following testimonials are from customers over the years and are reflections of me as a contractor, a person or both. Upon request, I can arrange for prospective customers to speak with and potentially meet the providers of the testimonials.
To Whom It May Concern:
We recently remodeled our home and are very pleased that we chose Earl Zackery. Our home turned out better than we expected and we owe a great deal of that to Earl. Earl takes immense pride in his relationships with his customers and his quality of work and it shows. Like with any project, there can be some bumps along the way and what impressed me most of all was how he handled the unexpected. In every case, the problem was fixed and Earl made it right. It is so easy to work with Earl and he is a pleasure to have around our home.

To Whom It May Concern:
Earl remodeled our kids’ bathroom in June of 2011. The kids’ bathroom was showing the wear of 3 children using it over 16 years and it was time to do a major remodel on it. Earl gutted the bathroom except for the tub and shower surround. The subflooring was repaired and screwed down so there will never be any squeaking. Earl installed a tile floor and persuaded Shelley and I to include a heating system for the floor which we are very happy we did. Earl installed new Cherry Cabinets, crown moulding, toilet, and mirror with matching Cherry frame, new shower rod, shower curtain and sconces. Earl also suggested we repaint and do a “Smooth Coat” wall finish. The result was very nice. All of our friends and relatives have commented what a beautiful bathroom. The change is amazing.
Interior remodels can be very difficult. The big thing for Shelley and I was to find someone that did impeccable work and had great integrity. Earl Zackery proved to be more than Shelley and I had hoped for. Earl’s attention to detail, thought process and quality of workmanship that goes into a project like this is unparalleled. We also found that Earl’s pricing is fair and reasonable.
I am a partner in an insurance agency in Bellevue and we insure a lot of contractors. Because of this I have many contacts with many different contractors. The fact that Shelley and I chose Earl over 30 or 40 other contractors speaks volumes in of itself.
It would be our pleasure to recommend Earl to anyone who is considering a remodeling project and appreciates truly quality work.

To Whom It May Concern:
Earl Zackery went above and beyond in the complete remodel of my mother-in-law apartment. I only provided a basic outline of what I wanted and we were able to communicate to solidify my vision. He has an incredible diversity of skills and is, in my opinion, a remodeling expert. This enabled me to make informed decisions when needed and trust his judgment as I could see that he was always planning ahead and obviously understood the technical aspects better than I ever would. You hear so many bad stories about contractors and the projects that never get done. Earl is incredibly hard-working and honest. He managed me instead of the other way around. His follow through and task list kept us moving forward and the job site was kept organized and neat. My project turned out better than I had envisioned. I look back now and am truly impressed with his skills and am grateful to have selected him.

To Whom It May Concern:
We hired Mr. Zackery approximately 8 years ago to do repair work in our basement apartment after a flood. Although he was not the low cost contractor, our initial impression of him was very favorable and we trusted that he could perform the repairs adequately. Over the next eight years, we have had Mr. Zackery and his company work on nearly every aspect of our home both interior and exterior, from basic repairs to a high-end bathroom. In every instance, the workmanship was beautiful.
We can confidently state that we have not witnessed any limitations with respect to Mr. Zackery’s skill or knowledge in residential remodeling. Not only is he the first person we call with our home project and repair needs, but we have also developed a great friendship with Mr. Zackery.
